(VA) (NOVA Parks) Join us for the first meeting of Tales and Trails, a book club meeting at Winkler Botanical Preserve. Following the death of his father, Gil sets out on the Joun Muir Trail with Syd, his father’s best friend. While hiking, they come to terms with life and death, learn the healing power of nature and unplugging, and more about themselves than they thought they could. This story challenges you, much like the trail, full of details and historical nuggets, giving you a sense of being there, walking along with a cast of diverse and interesting characters. After the book discussion, we’ll have time to take a little hike ourselves.
