(MD) (Free Walkers) Walk with FreeWalkers on the historic C&O Canal from Anglers Inn to Georgetown and back. The start of the walk is across from the Old Angler’s Inn, where there is plenty of parking and a public restroom. From there, we will walk 12 miles downstream to historic Georgetown, and return along the same route. The route is lined with historic canal locks, restored lock keeper cottages, wildlife and awesome views of the Potomac River.

For those of you who want to walk a shorter distance, the turnaround will be at Lock 7, for a 10-mile walk. After the walk, we will gather over at the Old Anglers Beer/Pizza Garden to refuel and celebrate! The Beer Garden is to the left of the main dinning entrance along a path to the back and has heaters and a big fire pit.
