(DC) (Anacostia Watershed Society) Join AWS and National Links Trust for a day of service leading up to Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. We will work on habitat restoration, focused on invasive plant control, along the riverside area of Kingman Island at the historic Langston Golf Course. By participating in this project you will have the opportunity to learn about invasive plants and the ecology of the Anacostia River, the history and importance of Langston Golf Course, and you will help us to improve the habitat for wildlife and the water quality of the Anacostia River.
NOTE: we will NOT be meeting at the Golf Course parking lot located at 2600 Benning Rd NE. We will be meeting at the driving range, which does not have a real address. Please consult the link on the registration page for exact location and directions. The driving range is just down the street from the Golf Course and is directly across from the Benning Rd entrance to Kingman and Heritage Islands Park.
