(DC) (US Botanic Garden) Beginners and experienced artists can celebrate the beauty of spring by learning the basics of botanical drawing and the practice of keeping a sketchbook. Drawing botanical subjects is one of the best ways to develop your eye for form, composition, and color, but it can be challenging to find the time and space for practice. In this online art workshop, participants will learn how line, shape, and value work together to create form as well as develop skills with measurement, proportion, and composition. We will even take a peek at color basics! This is an exciting new way to stay engaged with your artistic practice, grow your skills, and create a sketchbook that will bloom before your eyes.
Mary Ellen Carsley, Professional Artist/Illustrator will share a few “pro tips” to give your work a bit of artistic flare!
