(DC) (US Botanic Garden) During this online generative poetry workshop, Camille T. Dungy, acclaimed poet and essayist, Nina Graham, USBG Community Engagement Education Specialist, and Jaren Hill Lockridge, Chair of the Ward 8 Health Council will read from her book, “Soil: The Story of a Black Mother’s Garden,” Nina will share about the Garden’s community engagement work and upcoming community display, and Jaren will speak about her experience as a gardener and grower in the DC community. Participants will take inspiration from the panelists and Camille’s writing prompts. At the conclusion of the workshop, participants will write and possibly share their own poems.
