Cocktails & Conversations: D.C. Trees and Climate Change

(DC) (US Botanic Garden) Step out of the cold and into the verdant U.S. Botanic Garden Conservatory for an evening with urban tree experts! Hear from the researchers and community changemakers leading plant-centered climate change solutions around D.C. Come with curiosity and leave with a renewed sense of hope about the potential of plants and people.

6-7 p.m.: Doors open at 6 p.m. Enjoy a selection of seasonal cocktails, mocktails, and delicious Korean-American small plates available for purchase from D.C.’s own Magpie and the Tiger.

7-8 p.m.: Panel begins at 7 p.m. Join USBG Executive Director and botanist Dr. Susan Pell, in conversation with local experts as they discuss what trees tell us about our changing climate and the value of trees in responding to climate change impacts in Washington, D.C. You’ll hear first-hand from the researchers and community changemakers leading plant-centered climate change solutions around the District.

8-9 p.m.: Following the conversation, chat with Dr. Pell, guest panelists, and fellow attendees. You’ll be able to grab another drink and enjoy special access to explore the Conservatory after hours. Doors close at 9 p.m.
